Soy Sauce

An Asian style condiment produced from fermenting soy beans mixed with grains, cultures, salt and water. The process concludes with the mixture being pressed. The liquid is bottled as soy sauce, the solid is used as animal feed. There are several varieties of soy sauce including light and dark, which are the popular choices available in most supermarkets.

Wood Chips

Wood chips or smoking chips can be added to either a gas grill or a charcoal grill for added smoky flavor. The chips come in a variety of natural wood types including hickory, apple, cherry and mesquite. The chips are generally soaked in water to prevent them from burning too quickly, drained and then either placed directly over hot coals or in a special container designed to place over coals or gas for easier cleanup and slower smoke release.
